Irénée Groz
Oboist and teacher, Irénée Groz is an accomplished musician known for the warmth of his playing. A native of Brittany but an Alsatian at heart, he performs as a soloist and with orchestras throughout France and abroad: Chigiana Festival (Italy), Palais de la Musique et des Congrès de Strasbourg, Arsenal de Metz, Saison Musicale de Voiron (Isère), Whilhelma Theater Stuttgart (Germany), etc...
At the same time, he has worked with the Orchestre National de Metz and the Opéra National du Rhin, as well as in various chamber music ensembles (chamber orchestra, wind quintet, reed trio, etc.). Since 2020, he has been engaged in the early repertoire on historical oboes. He is currently perfecting his skills in baroque oboe with Renata Duarte and Thomas Meraner.
He holds a DNSPM in oboe, a degree in musicology and a diplôme d'État, and is continuing his training with Christian Schmitt and Sébastien Giot in masters courses in performance at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart and in pedagogy at the HEAR in Strasbourg.
